Who's That Good Looking Guy? Oh..Its Me In The Mirror

Slick title i know, but...this post is about mirrors. mirrors you say?? i do my hair in front of them, what about mirrors?
i am on about working out in front of one, many people use them, either in the gym when lifting weights, in classes, or for the meat head who just wants to flex his pecs or biceps in the mirror.."i do see that a lot".

Since i started getting into fitness, trying out routines, i use to use mirrors, to me...it seemed a good way to see if i was doing it right, getting that technique spot on, and yes..i thought it worked, but the thing is...as time has gone on i have come to realize they are not that great at all.
think about it realistically, you are focusing on the image in the mirror..which means you are not focusing on your move, technique 100%, your to busy being stuck to that external mirror image which believe it or not, is actually effecting your technique, causing a distraction, because of this also effecting your skill and strength development .
You should have full concentration of your body's movements, listen to your body, focusing on the quality of the skill, if your doing an exercise wrong it will most probably tell you, your body knows best. as i heard once from Steve Cotter "perfect practice makes perfect" wise words from Mr Cotter.

I can not remember the last time i trained in front of a mirror now, don't think i would now either.
only thing i will use them for now is to do my hair or to see how good i look before stepping out the door,
so don't rely on those mirrors for your workouts! train smart :)
